You are an attorney. I am not. You refer to the cruise lines as “evading” taxes and regulations. “Evading” taxes and regulations is illegal and if proven it should be punished. What the cruise lines are doing is avoiding taxes and that is legal, just as it is legal for me to minimize my taxes with legal deductions. As an attorney that was either sloppy or meant to be misleading. Your argument is sound without pushing peoples buttons by poor word choice.
Not only should the cruise industry not get any help from the government due to the tax situation, but they continue to dump illegally in the oceans. These are very bad people.
